Pneumatic Plug Valves

Good Supplier proudly presents the Pneumatic Plug Valves. A plug valve is a rotational motion valve used to stop or start fluid flow.

The name is derived from the shape of the disk, which resembles a plug.

A plug valve is one of the most common valve designs employed today. The plug valve has a simple design, few parts, and is easy to maintain.

Like the gate valve, it is not well suited for throttling applications but is well suited for on-off operation. Plug valves are rotational motion valves, similar to ball and butterfly valves.

The most significant advantage of plug valves is that they can be used for multiport applications.

As a result, flow can be diverted in several directions, and the flow direction can be changed quickly.

This multiport setup helps slow flow and reduces the total number of valves required within a piping system.

Plug valves, also called cocks, generally are used for the same full-flow service as gate valves, where quick shutoff is required.

They are used for steam, water, oil, gas, and chemical liquid service. Plug valves are not generally designed for the regulation of flow.

Nevertheless, specially designed plugs are used for this purpose in some applications, particularly for gas-flow throttling.

Product Description

The plug valve consists of a disc, stem, body, actuator, bonnet, and packing. The bonnet can be removed so that the valve’s internal parts (trim) can be accessed for maintenance and inspection. The plug valve is named after the type of disc employed. And this is also true for gate and ball valves.

The type of disc employed is one of three designs; rectangular, round, and diamond. Rectangular design plug valves are the most common, with diamond-type designs used primarily for throttling applications only.

Tapered plug and the body are the main parts of the plug valve. Maximum flow efficiency can be created by the proper design of the internal contours of the valve.

Mainly in the tapered plug, the port is rectangle-shaped and has round ports. Full flow is obtained when the opening in the tapered plug is aligned in the direction of flow and when the plug is rotated, a quarter-turn flow is terminated.

Product features

With the help of a cylindrical or tapered plug, the plug valve does the quarter-turn operation from fully open to fully closed state. The plug provides a hole through one axis, which can connect the inlet and outlet of the valve, so in an open position, there would be a straight-through flow. However, the flow would be properly blocked when it is rotated 90 degrees to the closed position.

Although there are many types of plug valves, there are four general categories, each with its benefits.

1. Lubricated Plug Valve
2. Non-Lubricated Plug Valve
3. Eccentric Plug Valve and
4. Expanding Plug Valve
What are the advantages of plug valves?

⦿ Flow regulation
⦿ Reduce the corrosion and erosion loses.
⦿ Fire safety and it can be used with significant flow rates
⦿ The size of this valve is small so that it only uses less space
⦿ It provides tight shutoff, quick opening, and low- pressure drop
⦿ Plug and body seating surfaces are not exposed to the line fluid
